Kevin M. Courtney is a respected attorney with a passion for justice and a track record of success. Having served in the US Marine Corps as a Captain at Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton, Kevin’s commitment to serving those who defend our nation goes beyond the courtroom. As a member of the California State Bar and former Marine Corps Judge Advocate, Kevin acts as a zealous defense counsel to clients in both military and civilian courts.
Kevin graduated from the University of California, San Diego with a bachelor’s degree in political science. He then enrolled at the University of California, Law, San Francisco where he met with a Marine Corps Officer Selection Officer. After excelling at Officer Candidates School during the summer in Quantico, VA, he was commissioned in the US Marine Corps as a Second Lieutenant and served as an assistant trial counsel at Camp Pendleton and appellate law clerk for the Navy Marine Corps Court of Criminal Appeals in Washington, DC – before earning his law degree and graduating with a Juris Doctor.
Kevin grew up near Camp Pendleton, California. His background is routed within the military way of life. Kevin’s father served as a Marine Corps Infantry Officer, teaching him the Marine Corps’ Hymn as a young child. His grandfathers both served in the US Navy, as a fighter pilot awarded the Navy Cross, and the other as a Navy Doctor in the Battle of Iwo Jima.
